December 2019, the first case of Corona virus reported at Wuhan state, China. Since then , laboratory  confirmed infections have beeen reported in over 100 countries as of 9th March 2020. The streets have been cordoned off, self quarantine has became a familiar verb,fear instilled in the public, stigmatization of victims especially Asians abroad has became more dangerous than the virus itself and the world has geared itself on high alert to combat an attack whose antidote is yet to be established.
Some have expressed discomfort with possibilities of the virus being used as a deadly tool by the terror groups such as the Al Qaeda in crowded places. Health Unions warn that if not controlled in time, this may result in loss and thus shortage of health personnel who may die due to long exposure. In fact, the first medic to have died of the deadly virus was the whistle blower doctor.

 Nearly four months later and the world has continually became a dangerous place to live in.China which is the epicenter of the outbreak has recorded 3100 deaths with 27 deaths being last evening  8th March 2020 according to World Health Organization statistics.There are now 105,508 confirmed cases globally and more new cases being confirmed in Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Malta,Faroe Island, Guiana, Maldives and Martinique. World Health Organization report says that every country across the globe is at "very high risk" of contracting the virus.
  The most worrying reports are that the virus cases have been recorded at every corner of the world, this means that everyone is at absolutely high risk. Everyone in the world is currently a worried lot, fear has engulfed every individual owing to just how quick the virus can end up killing it's victims.
People from Asia are now undergoing serious isolation and stigmatization, if the recent video clip of Kenyans calling persons of Asian descent "corona" is anything to go by, the world will need to also invest more on public relations enlightment as opposed to medical only.

The effects of the virus has continued to manifest itself on every sector of normal human livelihood. The economic reports have in recent past hit record low and the economic experts have warned the economic class of not so kind statistics in the near future.27,727 cases have been confirmed outside China with 484 deaths and the numbers continue to rise at a terrifying pace.
 China being the top oil importer in the globe and world number one manufacturer, production is expected to be extremely low since factories in China have shut down as no one is allowed out in the streets to attend to jobs, businesses that rely on imported goods from China have now run out of supply.
The airline services have experienced a big blow, this owes to the fact that countries have ordered suspension of all flights especially from countries that have recorded infection cases, no mobility of persons and commodities, very important global workshops and seminars have so far been cancelled and academic institutions closed.
The entertainment sector is now experiencing extremely low revenue collection with most people avoiding crowded recreational joints. Sports industry has been the worst hit. Major sporting events have been either cancelled or postponed among them being;
- The Chinese Grand Prix that was set for April is set for cancellation or lengthy delay.
- world Athletic Indoor Championship that was set for 13-15 March has been postponed to a yet to be mentioned date in 2021.
- Hong Kong Marathon that was due for February 8th cancelled.
- Singapore World Rugby Series that was due for February cancelled.
-Chinese Super league suspended
 Football in Europe has also been hit quite hard by the situation, for instance, Italy which is the country that has recorded more corona virus cases within Europe has in the last two weeks forced to suspend Serie A league matches. A few matches that were allowed to continue were played in empty stadiums with no fans, this has caused a blow since the clubs usually depend on gate collections for revenue. Physical contacts such as greetings have also been warned against as a precaution to avert potential contraction.
 The most powerful Nations like the United States of America, Japan and Italy have felt how tough it is to deal with the virus with all having reported deaths, the question thereby becomes whether African countries with absolutely poor health sectors will be in a position to combat the seriously ravaging viral infection. Some do express confidence despite the clear evidence that the facilities they have spared as quarantine centers are very shoddy and wouldn't manage to handle more that at least 50 cases a day.With world Health Organization putting every country in the world at high risk, Africans have continued to express extreme fear on the ravaging viral attack that has continued to consume hundreds and  thousands of lives.
