POLICE TO ENFORCE ECONOMIC INJUSTICE IN MOMBASA
STORY BY : CLINTON ODINO
Businesses have been ordered to close down at likoni this morning to allow for fumigation of premises. The police officers have said once closed ,the premises will only start operations tomorrow. This directive comes with no prior notice. Some business owners have protested not to close down claiming they were never informed in advance.
The business owners have vowed to stay put saying they have already suffered enough economically and are no longer going to honor undocumented risks.
When a food vendors asked the police officer what she would do with the food she has already prepared for daily sales, the police officer angrily responded saying that she could either eat all of it or pour it out.
Some are now asking the essence of the curfew since that is the perfect time such fumigation actions can be conducted without interference just as it has in recent times been done in Nairobi.
Our team is still at the sight waiting to see how this will be enforced with police still going round to deliver the message.
